Hello, I am Serene Wu
(Educator by Day, Life Coach + Calligrapher by Night)
Calligrapher, educator, former senior teacher of CCE (Character and Citizenship Education) and math lecturer at a junior college.
Also, I'm a practicing life coach and a proud mom to two lively boys, aged 8 and 12.
Ten years ago, I stumbled into the world of calligraphy by pure chance and instantly fell in love with it. Even during my teaching days, I dedicated time to refine my calligraphy skills, seizing every chance to write for my students, colleagues, and anyone else who crossed my path.
Leaving behind the teaching profession in 2020, a job I adored, I ventured into entrepreneurship as a mom during Covid.
Since then, I've had the joy of captivating over 500 individuals through both private and public calligraphy workshops.
People often tell me my superpower lies in my ability to empathize, encourage, and empower them through personal, authentic stories. Experience me and let me know if it's true?
I host calligraphy workshops, both online and in person, including corporate sessions and those tailored for schools (Principals, KPs, teachers and students).

What if I can't attend your monthly Zoom live session? Will I miss out on the learning?

>> Even if you can’t attend live, you’ll have easy access to every session — this also applies to all other public Zoom workshops.

How long will I have access to the materials?

Do I need special tools or materials?
>> A Pentel Brush Sign Pen (all other art supplies are optional!).
>> Good-quality printing papers for writing practice
>> Printer to print your practice guide sheets and quote templates
>> Optional: watercolor papers, water brush pens, watercolors, pointed nib calligraphy, notebooks, envelopes, or project-specific items.
Most exercises are beginner-friendly — fancy tools aren’t required to create something beautiful.
How fast will I see results?
With CGC’s structured curriculum and carefully designed resources, you’ll build muscle memory and progress steadily when you practice 5–10 minutes at least 3 times a week.
>> Months 1–3: Develop confidence in basic strokes and lowercase letters.
>> Months 4–6: Learn uppercase letters, write short quotes, and start combining letters into simple compositions.
>> Months 7–9: Refine your personal style, add flourishes, and create more complex compositions.
>> Months 10–12: Write full quotes, cards, and creative projects with intention.
During our monthly Zoom live sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to write along, ask questions, and troubleshoot your writing, ensuring that your practice is focused, effective, and enjoyable.
